wow thats awesome that j and lis are gunna have another! i was just thinking about it a couple of weeks ago. i realized and i told some missionaries that i probably won't have any more nieces or nephews born while i'm gone...unless any of my brothers and sisters were expecting but hadnt announced anything yet!! that is it.
to answer your question christmas was fun. at our ward christmas party we had a small nativity play put on by the primary, and had some awards and certificates given out to the ward members. i really like the ward alot...some funny people. the only thing that we did for christmas as a mission was have the christmas gathering in sunyani that monday. we went up and heard stuff from president sabey about chirstmas and played some games and ate some food. it was pretty fun.
now that elder ekaette is transferred i won't see him much. for the last month or so i've seen him almost every pday, but when he got transferred this week he got sent to the farrest zone from kumasi in the farrest area that we have missionaries! his village he's in now is called odoben. it's really poor people there, and it's like an hour's drive to the nearest missionaries from there.
elder adams seems to be doing really well up here. we went by his apartment on wednesday night, it's really nice. this is the first new unit they're opening up in kumasi and they'll start worshiping in their apartment this sunday so we'll see how it all goes.
this week was a decent week. on tuesday we took the long bus ride to cape coast for zone leader council (like 4-5 hrs). it was sweet, i got some good food in the mission home and had a good time. the zone leader council was productive too. then we came back wednesday afternoon/evening then went with elder and sister kiffer to the new atonsu apartment (elder adam's place).
on thursday we finally were able to have a normal prosolyting day. we have one guy that we are really exited about named isaac yeboah, but he couldnt come to church on sunday cause he was sick. on friday we went out and met with a less active/recent convert named milicent. then we out to teach a guy who's name is mcallen. he's so so so legit, make sure to remind me, i'll tell you more about him later.
on saturday we went out with a ward member who showed us more of the members houses. we know a pretty good chunk of the members houses now, but we're still working on getting some referrals from them. so far we've only gotten a couple.
yesterday there was a white family that came to worship with us. it was real weird to see a regular, american family with kids and see how they interact with each other and stuff. the father works in the gold mining business, so he's working here now. they've been living in ghana for about 3 months and will stay for a couple of years probably. they are the chandler family from st george. they were really nice.
well i'm outta here! i gotta go home and do my washing so that we can go to elder lehr's ward's bishop's house for fhe. ask me any questions that i can answer for you next week. thanks for all the updates on my friends mom, send them my love.
thanks for everything, i love you.
love, elder mackay
ps i sent a letter home about a month ago have you got it yet??
here's a picture of me and elder kamara with the sisters in our zone. if i'm being honest, i'd have to say that not all the sisters in the mission are that fun to be around, but our sisters we have here right now are sweet. they're not too high maintenance and they are funny and helpful. they are really funny. we went with them last sunday cause they're branch president invited us all to their house after their baptism. this is an older picture though. L-R sister awuna (ah-woo-nah) from nigeria, sister inkum (in-koom) from ghana, sister andoh-kessen (ahn-doh-kess-in) from ghana, elder kamara from sierra leone, me, sister wallace from ghana, sister mensah from ghana (from moree), and sister koroma from sierra leone.
