In training as a trainer

Hey fam!!
So... i suppose i'll begin with my new companion! his name is Elder Ekaette (eh-kye-tay). He is a 20 year old Nigerian!! the kid is so innocent it s ridiculous!! he's never used a computer until today. i typed up an email he wanted to send to you guys. i just typed as he spoke, i tried to write it down word for word so you can really see his personality! i love the kid. he's definitely got the mtc spirit!! he is very obedient and smiles constantly. he is an extremely good cook!!! so we enjoy every meal haha. he basically came with the clothes he was wearing and a few others, so president sabey came by this morning and brought some shirts and stuff that missionaries have sent to the mission home as they are going home. it's pretty humbling.

he has been very humble so far, and that is basically the biggest thing i was praying for after i found out i was training. I just found out yesterday that elder lehr is training too! haha i love that kid. he's a straight up stud.

i talked to elder kalinja on the phone yesterday, and he recieved the camera! he said ''it's a powa-ful camera!''

shannon i'm sorry to hear about the surgery, that pains me. you'll be in my prayers PLENTY. so what causes all that?? is it hereditary?? man, i wish i could've been there for braden's baby blessing!! sorry bout the accident dad. i got the journal mom, thanks!! i was so happy to see it. i hope the gingerbread decorating will be sweet, my money is on kev as the winner!

the recent converts are doing well, most of them. one of them, gertude hasnt been to church in a few weeks. so we tracked her down and she said she didnt have sandals to go. i'm not so convinced thats why she's not coming... but all of the ward missionaries pooled in 50 pesowas (ghanaian cents) and were gunna get her some nice sandals. so hopefully she'll be good.

but yea, over my first two transfers we've baptised plenty. i've felt like its time to maybe go in a new direction in moree. were gunna focus more on teaching the recent converts and strengthening them, rather than finding as many new investigators. also, were gunna spend alot of time finding less active members and helping them back. there are lots of less actives in moree. so if not as many baptisms happen in the next little while, it's not because i'm slacking off :) ha ha

as for training, it's been awesome so far. i've learned alot about how to rely on the spirit. There has been times in the last week that i've left a lesson that we taught and thought about some of the things that i found myself saying, or teaching. i've said some things that are spontaneous; that i know it was the Spirit putting the thoughts into my mind before i spoke. it is really humbling to see how my capacity and effectiveness in serving have increased basically overnight as i've been given this assignment to train. in a nutshell, training has simply allowed for more growth for me, and i'm lovin it!

as for things i need, there really isnt much. i'm getting low on deoderant, and i havent found any here so mabye some old spice would be nice.

mom, i donno if you could do me a HUGE favor. could you send a small package of things for elder ekaette? like a wallet, some pens, mabye some socks, a small journal... he needs so much stuff and we dont have much money to work with here and i dont think he'll be getting any mail any time soon or anything at all for christmas.... i'd appreciate it like crazy!!!!!

also, maybe my emails may be a little shorter in the futuree as i dont wanna be spending too much time on the internet cause he'll just be sitting there watching and stuff cause he doesnt have much to do here..

so i gotta run, but thanks for everything i love you!!!

love, elder mackay
