in enjoyed your email, dad! as for the christmas day phone call, i donno any details! i'll try to talk to some american elders about how they usually do it and get back to you next week. its crazy that its already december, i'm excited for the phone call too!
i hope you guys were able to see elder kalinja's pics on flickr, he was going to try to upload some more from moree, so you may want to check back periodically! i'm gunna send a memory card home soon, i'm getting advice from different elders and finding out what the most effecient way will be to do it ...i'll send that in a week or two.
i got alotta mail this week, it was cool! i got the missionary newsletter with the ensign and stuff, which was sweet. mom thanks for that conference talk. but i already have it! that talk ("none were with him" by elder holland) is my favorite conference talk i've ever heard!!! i made sure that i didnt leave on my mission without bringing a copy of it with me. i llllove that talk, i've spend alot of time reading and thinking about it and teaching from it and stuff.
i got a short letter from grandma jolley! she told me that she knows i'm in a different land, but she cant wait for me to come home! i also got a letter from jason -thanks for the sports update boi, i loved it! the whole letter made me laugh out loud. i got davis' letter and it was halarious. lots of good advice also. i gave that batman sticker to elder kalinja and he was just like "do you think i'm a small boy?" and threw it on the ground. haha he wasnt too much into the superhero idea. it made me laugh soo hard. i wish i could hear your new solo album, my brother. love you.
so i got sick small-small this week. dont worry though, it wasnt anything like last time. it wasnt typhoid or malaria. it really wasnt that bad. i think i just ate some bad food on thursday night and it put me on the sidelines for friday and most of saturday. i'm fine now, i promise.
on sunday we had stake conference, which was sweet! president sabey and sister sabey spoke, along with a bunch of other church leaders here in ghana. i really enjoyed it.
now...heres the second bomb i have to drop for you this week. i'll begin by saying that last time i got my hair cut i asked elder agama to do it for me. he said he was a barber back home before the mish, so i let him do it with my set of hair clippers. i made sure i was in front of a mirror and watched his every move. he did really w
ell, i was impressed. now, it came time for me to get my hair cut again, so i asked him to do it. this time i trusted him, i didnt sit in front of a mirror, with the mindset that he's using the clippers, how bad could he mess it up?? oohhh dear. so he was shaving along, and was almost finished, when the blue cover on the end of the razor slipped off and bssp! shaved a big dent in the back of my head! i didnt notice at all though, so he just kept quiet. he asked me if i had a shorter one to use, but didnt tell me why. i told him that this one was the shortest i had. so he decided to just shave allllll of my head without using one of the covers at all, and didnt even say a word to me!! i stood up and looked in the mirror and was shocked!!! i donnno what he was thinking, but i'm bald now. hahah i look terrible!! i'll send a couple pics (along with a couple from last week that i forgot to send) my hair is soooo short, you can barely see it. on a black man, it would look normal, but on a white boy like me, it just makes me look like a fool!! whatev, what can we do?? just wait for it to grow back...well thanks for everything you guys do for me and for the great examples you are. keep doing good! i'll write next week and tell you all about my new companion!
love you guys like crazy!
elder mackay
ps. shauna i printed out your email, i'll put some thought into it this week and send an email next week.
