Living it up right now

i was way surprised to hear you say that you didnt get an email from me last week... cause i sent one haha!! i wasnt able to write two weeks ago cause the internet was down in all of cape coast. but last week you shouldve got it. i donno what the deal is, but i checked my sent folder and your email is typed in there correctly and it says it was delivered so... sorry. i'll try to forward last week's email again today too. i sent pictures and a video last week. (does your email have a limit for the size of attachments it can receive?? it was a pretty big one last week. like 20-25 mb...)

it sounds like it was a sweet weekend overall for you guys. just like last time, we dont get to watch conference. in about a month or so, we'll get to watch a session or two in freaking FANTE. the only interesting part is the motab singing haha. thats so crazy that tanner's serving in levi and yvette's ward. you didnt have to tell me that he's a stud missionary. in know he is. so i heard they're getting a temple there pretty soon??

ya i got brother harvey's email a little while ago and another today. and (i think i mentioned it in last week's email) i got joan's package and cindy's letter. thanks! thanks for showing sarah that video i was gunna email it to her soon. oh man it's funny.

that family and friends update is pretty crazy. it's nuts to hear about all that stuff.

so elder kalinja goes home today. it's crazy that its finally here. he's been talking about this day like its been just around the corner for the last eight MONTHS. that kid is sooo ready to get home haha. he's a funny kid. in ghana you generally call every woman who is older than you "mommy." it's crazy weird to get used to cause you feel like a small child when you say it, but thats just the culture. so i think he's kind of caught on to the fact that when the americans speak about there mom's they say mom or mother haha.

well moree is still sweet. this transfer ends today, so we'll receive transfer news later today. i'm sure i'll stay to be here with elder adams for at least 6 more weeks. that'd make 3 months with him and by that time i'll be 9 months in moree so maybe i'll go then. but i refuse to think about all that stuff for more than like two minutes at a time. whatever.

i counted, and this week amost HALF of our lessons were taught to actual families. i told elder adams he better soak this up cause its NEVER like this. we have a few sweet families that we're meeting with, and two are doing really well. during my whole first 6 months i only baptised one family and only really taught 2 at all.

i got the flu a little bit this week, i didnt feel too good but it wasnt that bad. it didnt affect our proselyting hours, but it probably affected our effectiveness a little...

so i'll take a little time this week and tell you about a few people i love. first will be elder buah. he's the man. he's a 19 year old child of record from accra, ghana that was in the same mtc group as me. his dad is a well off guy and a powerful leader in the church. (he's served in the area office and the temple and he will become a mission president in one of the nigeria missions this july.) elder buah recieved a top quality ghanaian education and is a very bright kid. he's the smartest ghanaian i've met. elder buah is this tiny, short, stick skinny 19 year old with a quiet wisper of a voice, but everything he says is just profound i swear. we were called to train at the same time. he's one of those people who doesnt say anything unless it is important, so people around him listen to him.

i think i might have mentioned to you guys that there are a bunch of ward missionaries from the moree ward that are preparing to go on missions. they're a tight group of kids and its just like it was at home when all my buddies were receiving their calls and stuff. four have their papers in and one has his call. samuel atta gyan got his call like a month ago, at the beginning of march, and he leaves on april 8th! thats this thursday. he'll be serving in the same mission that president buah will become the mission president of. atta gyan is the man. he's not working at all or anything, and all he wants to do is just prosolyte with us every day. so we've been going out with him every single day and he's doing really well. he's so prepared for his mission it's nuts. i think i've told you guys about him and his twin brother. he is black and the other is albino (stephen atta gyan, and his papers are in right now). i'm way excited for him. their parents arent members, but we're teaching their mother and brother. the brother, enoch is 23 and doesnt speak english. he's been meeting with missionaries for a while now - were gunna baptise him next month.

kobe and georgina are doing way well. georgina has been to church like five times now, and kobe's been like 3. we talked to them yesterday about having kobe baptised and set him up for march 2nd!

now i'll tell you about esther. you gotta pray for her. her husband is a somewhat less active member of the ward. she is Jehovah's Witness and has been since she was born. we've been meeting with her for about a month now. she's come to church twice and was doing well. so we had been walking by a little while ago and saw her meeting with the Jehovahs Witness missionaries. since then she's been way sketchy. we havent been able to meet with her much and when we have, she's not all there. so yesterday we finally were able to coax it all out of her that its just been killing her brain with everything that she's thinking about. we've been able to help her understand that God can naturally only have one church (or else he's a God of confusion). she's been thinking about that constantly. we wont tell her that this church is the right one, we'll only tell her that God has made know to us that this is it, and tell her find out for herself. so she's just crazy confused cause she doesnt know what to do. so pray for her.
