TMI from Felicity

well, it sounds like you guys are enjoying nicely while i'm here; nice meals and massages in my OLD ROOM? where's your respect? haha. i was talking to the moree chief yesterday, and he said that its tradition for some chiefs to be burried in their room. so maybe i'll have you guys bury me in that room haha! it sounds like the women did well. i wish i coulda been there for real . . .

well, the baptisms went really well. we baptised four, including felicity (we almost didnt get to with her because she had her grandmother's funeral that day, she had malaria, and it was also THAT TIME of the month for her and she was worried about turning the font's water all red . . . but to make a long story short, she trucked through it all!!) and albert saalah too.

but yesterday at church it didnt go as well haha. it was raining way hard all night and day, so like no one came to church, so our converts werent confirmed. like, no one came. it was us and the bishop for about fifteen minutes, and then some came. usually, our sacrament meeting attendance is about 130, but yesterday, we started a half hour late and it was 30 haha! so elder ekaette wont be able to complete the goal until albert is confirmed next sunday.

we contacted this guy on tuesday. after telling him our names, we asked for his. he said "white man." i thought he was being smart. he wasnt! haha he is an obibini (black man), but his name is white man. haha we came back and taught him the next day, we had a sweet discussion, he is really smart. i think he recognized our message as the truth a little bit. the only problem is that he runs a bar, so well see how it all goes with him.

we have another guy we've been teaching for a little while named samuel otoo that is a sweet guy. he is basically engaged to julianna awotwe (a member) and she has brought him to the church. hes just a happy, innocent guy. a carpenter. we asked him to read the intro of the book of mormon last saturday, and we came back to him on wednesday night, and he hadnt read. julianna ripped him a new one lemme tell ya! she just chastized him about how he was wasting our time and stuff . . . at the end, we were going to pray before we left, and i wanted to test them to learn about their relationship, so i told them that the two of them could decide which of them would pray. immediately they both said the opposite persons name, she stood strong and he prayed. i guess we know who wears the pants in the relationship! haha

today we went to abura to play football with the abura zone. elder evans was there, and also his old trainer elder haslem, who's a crazy funny kid from hurricane, utah. then, me elder agama, ekaette, and thoronka went to the cape coast castle, where they would detain the slaves before they were sent off to wherever on the ships. obama came there last year. its so humbling.
