Tonight the family gathered around as Jesse prepared to open his mission call. Since Davis and Becca were in Utah at the time, we included them by phone.But before he opened the infamous white envelope, everyone made their individual guesses as to where he would be serving. The person who guessed the closest would be the winner of a gift card to Cafe' Rio! Even Jesse's nieces and nephew got in on the act by pointing to a spot on the globe.
These were our guesses: Dad - Canada, Mom - Scotland, Jason - Czechoslovakia, Lisa - Philippines, Jacob - Algeria, John - Brazil, Sharie - Japan, Josh (John's brother) - Russia, Mylie - Australia, Brynlee - Chile, Kevin - Germany, Shannon - Mexico, Davis - Florida, Becca - Peru, Jesse - England, and Shauna - France. It turned out to be little 1 1/2 year old Jacob who
guessed the closest!Never in a million years did Jesse expect to be called to Africa! And where in the world was Cape Coast, Ghana? Well he had 4 1/2 months ahead of him to figure that out! Jesse was to report to the Ghana MTC on August 21st and would be speaking English.
Since Jacob didn't have his driver's license yet he decided to treat his Mom and Dad to dinner at Cafe' Rio!
